BPC-157 is a synthetic 15-amino-acid peptide that behaves as a general repair signal in laboratory animals: it speeds healing of tendon, ligament, muscle and gut tissue and promotes new blood vessel growth. In horses it gets reached for on tendon and ligament strains, muscle injuries, and gut problems. Every bit of that use rides on rodent evidence - there is no controlled study of BPC-157 in horses, and less of the hands-on equine history that TB-500 has.

The competition problem

If your horse competes, this is the part that decides it. BPC-157 is an unapproved substance with effects that anti-doping programs care about, so the safe assumption is that it is prohibited in regulated competition. The absence of a specific named test is not permission - detection science moves, and using a performance-relevant unapproved peptide in a competing horse should be treated as a violation. TB-500, the related peptide, is already explicitly banned and tested for in racing, which tells you where this class sits with regulators.

BPC-157 for horses is a plausible mechanism with no equine proof, an unregulated supply, no approved product, and a doping line for any competition animal.
