How the math works
Reconstitution is one division. The concentration is the vial mass divided by the water you add: 1000 mg into 10 mL is 100 mg/mL. The volume for a dose is then the dose divided by that concentration - a 50 mg dose at 100 mg/mL is 0.5 mL - and the units are that volume times the syringe scale, so 0.5 mL on a U-100 insulin syringe reads 50 units. Doses per vial is just the vial mass divided by the dose, rounded down, since the leftover under one full dose is not usable. These are exact unit conversions; they do not tell you what dose to take.
One NAD+ wrinkle: because it is a compounded product with no manufacturer standard, subcutaneous protocols are often written in millilitres of a made-up solution rather than in milligrams. Knowing your mg/mL is what lets you translate a “0.2 mL” instruction back into an actual dose.
